Facials
-
We recommend not getting a facial close to a big event, plan for at least a week in advance
Please make sure you are not using heavy medication such as Retin-A, benzoyl peroxide or other heavy peels.
Avoid direct sunlight after getting a peel for 2 to 3 days. Also avoid sweating on the day following your appointment.
We start all Glycolic Peels around 35%. We also offer TCA chemical peels but they are only offered to existing clients who are familiar with their skin and home skincare routines.
If this is your first facial with us and you can’t decide which facial is best for you then you can choose the one that best describes your skin concerns and we can adjust it if needed.
-
For your best results, schedule your facial 5–7 days before the event. This timing allows your skin to fully settle, glow naturally, and look its most refreshed.
If you’re trying a new treatment or anything more advanced, plan it 2–3 weeks ahead to ensure your skin has time to adjust.
For brides or anyone preparing for multiple events, a series of monthly facials leading up to the big day will create the smoothest, most radiant results. -
Microdermabrasion works by combining gentle exfoliation with increased circulation to renew the skin. First, the treatment lightly buffs away the outer layer of dull, dead skin cells to reveal a smoother, brighter surface.
At the same time, a soft vacuum action stimulates microcirculation, which boosts oxygen flow, promotes healthy cell turnover, and improves overall texture and elasticity. The result is fresher, softer, more radiant skin. -
Microdermabrasion is a safe, gentle treatment with no downtime, so you can return to your normal activities right away.
For the best results, keep your skin protected for the next 48 hours by using a hydrating moisturizer and applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun. -
Microdermabrasion is generally very gentle, but it’s normal to experience mild side effects as your skin renews itself.
You may feel a slight tingling or notice that your skin feels tighter immediately after treatment. A bit of redness or flushing can also occur and typically fades within 12–24 hours.
Some clients experience light peeling or flakiness over the next few days, this is a normal part of the cell renewal process and a sign that the treatment is working. -
Yes. Microdermabrasion is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that is considered safe for most skin types and tones, including reactive, sensitive, and acne-prone skin.
The intensity can be easily adjusted to suit your comfort level, making it a versatile option for clients seeking smoother, brighter, more refined skin without downtime. -
While generally safe, Microdermabrasion is not recommended for individuals with active cold sores, open lesions, inflamed cystic acne, rosacea flare-ups, sunburn, or certain skin infections. Clients using strong prescription skincare (such as Accutane, retinoids, or exfoliating acids) may need to pause those products prior to treatment.
If you’re unsure, Lidia will assess your skin during consultation and help determine the safest, most effective approach for you. -
After a facial with extractions, it’s important to keep your skin calm and protected while it heals. Avoid abrasive cleansers and exfoliating products for a few days, as your skin may be more sensitive.
Keep the area clean and balanced with a moisturizer that includes antibacterial properties, options like Yonka Cream 15 are ideal for soothing and supporting the skin. Stay hydrated, since temporary dryness or flakiness is common after extractions.
And always protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30, even on cloudy days, to prevent irritation and promote healthy recovery.
Radio Frequency (RF) Facials
-
A radio frequency (RF) facial is a non-invasive treatment that uses gentle heat energy to penetrate the deeper layers of your skin. This controlled warmth stimulates collagen and elastin production, the proteins responsible for keeping your skin firm and youthful. Over time, your skin becomes tighter, smoother, and more lifted, with a noticeable reduction in fine lines and sagging.
At authentic skin, we most often focus on the face, neck, and jawline, the areas where skin laxity is most visible.
-
Not at all. Most clients describe the sensation as a gentle, warm massage. The treatment is relaxing and comfortable, many even find it soothing!
At authentic skin, we take care to monitor your comfort at every step, ensuring a calm, enjoyable experience. -
For best results, we typically recommend a series of 6–8 sessions. During your consultation, we’ll design a personalized treatment plan tailored to your skin type, concerns, and goals.
-
Some clients notice a subtle lift and glow after their very first session. The real magic happens over time, as your body produces new collagen, your skin will gradually become firmer and smoother. Most clients see optimal results within 2–3 months after completing their treatment series.
-
With proper skincare and maintenance, your results can last several months to a year. We often recommend periodic maintenance sessions to keep your skin looking fresh and firm year-round.
-
RF facials are safe and gentle, with little to no downtime. You may experience slight warmth, redness, or mild swelling immediately after treatment, but these effects typically fade within a few hours, leaving your skin calm and radiant.
-
RF technology uses controlled heat energy to gently warm the deeper layers of your skin without damaging the surface. This heat triggers your body’s natural healing response, encouraging collagen and elastin renewal.
Over time, this process tightens and lifts the skin, improves texture, and enhances overall elasticity for a more youthful, refined appearance. -
RF facials are ideal for anyone noticing early signs of aging — such as mild to moderate skin laxity, fine lines, or loss of firmness. It’s suitable for most skin types and tones.
During your consultation, your authentic skin esthetician will evaluate your skin to ensure this treatment is the right fit for you. -
Absolutely. RF facials pair beautifully with other treatments like dermaplaning, hydrafacials, or customized hydrating masks to boost results and overall radiance.
At authentic skin, we will create a treatment plan that complements your skin goals for maximum glowing results.
Microcurrent Facials
-
Microcurrent is a low-level electrical current that mimics the body’s own natural bioelectric energy.
It’s used in facials to help diminish fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture, boost circulation, and gently tone the facial muscles.
The result is a lifted, more refreshed appearance with improved overall skin health. -
Microcurrent works by “re-educating” the facial muscles, helping lengthened, slackened muscles (like the cheeks or forehead) tighten, and shortened, tense muscles (like those that pull the corners of the mouth downward) relax. This process supports a more lifted and balanced facial structure.
Microcurrent also enhances product absorption through iontophoresis, allowing targeted serums to penetrate deeper for better results. -
Microcurrent can benefit all skin types, especially anyone looking to address early signs of aging, improve firmness, smooth fine lines, or enhance overall radiance without invasive procedures.
-
Many clients notice a visible lift and glow after just one session. However, microcurrent results are cumulative, meaning consistency is key. For the most transformative, long-lasting results, microcurrent is typically performed as a series of treatments.
-
Microcurrent is safe for most people, but it’s not recommended for those with epilepsy, pacemakers, active cancer, or anyone pregnant. If you’re unsure whether microcurrent is right for you, Lidia can guide you during your consultation.
Eyelash & Eyebrow Tinting
-
Tinting is ideal for naturally light brows or lashes, as well as gray, white, or faded hairs that only show up with daily mascara or brow pencil.
It adds definition, depth, and visibility without makeup. You can choose from two shades: deep black or dark brown. -
The service begins by removing all eye and brow makeup (it’s best to arrive without any). A thin layer of Vaseline is applied around the brows and eyelids to protect the skin.
A specially formulated tint is then applied to the brows or lashes for 1–2 minutes, repeated as needed to reach your desired depth of color. The area is then gently cleansed. -
Yes, but all makeup will be removed during the service. Please avoid waterproof mascara or eyeliner, as these can be difficult to remove. If possible, arriving without eye makeup is best.
-
Yes, you can resume wearing makeup right away.
-
Tinting takes approximately 20–30 minutes per area.
-
Results typically last 3–4 weeks, fading gradually over time.
-
Reactions are rare, but if you have sensitive skin, a history of allergies, or any concerns about swelling, we recommend a complimentary patch test 24 hours before your appointment.
Waxing
-
Waxing removes hair from the root, which helps it grow back finer, softer, and thinner over time. With consistent treatments every four weeks, hair growth becomes noticeably reduced, and the skin stays smoother for longer. Regular waxing also helps refine texture and can lead to fewer ingrown hairs compared to shaving.
-
For the best waxing results, your hair should be at least ¼ to ½ inch long. If your hair is coarse or if it’s your first wax, aim for the full ½ inch to ensure a cleaner, more effective removal.
It’s also important to avoid certain products and medications before your appointment.
Do not use or take Retin-A, Renova, hydroquinone, Accutane, blood-thinning medications, or topical/oral cortisone, as these can make the skin more sensitive and increase the risk of irritation. If you’re unsure about a product you’re using, just let Lidia know, she’ll guide you on the safest way to prep for your service.
